Why I Include Engagement Sessions

If you've stumbled onto this page, you're obviously interested in knowing why I include engagement sessions in all of my wedding collections and why they're not an add-on. I find engagement sessions to be incredibly important for one simple reason: you get to work with your photographer before your big day.

Every photographer works differently, has different techniques to pose you, and has different ways of communicating to you. At the engagement session, you learn about her/his style of communication and how to take her/his direction. Learning this is extremely important because it will help you efficiently work together on your wedding day. You want to learn these so that, on your wedding day, you know exactly what your photographer means when she/he tells you to do this or that. There's absolutely no time to waste on a wedding day and you don't want to spend your valuable time trying to learn what your photographer is trying to tell you now do you?

Not only that, but you get to connect with your photographer on a much more personal level. It's not easy being in front of the camera. Trust me, I know. It's a very intimate process to have someone take photos of you and your loved one. It takes a lot of confidence to be put on the receiving side of the lens and it requires a lot of trust to let your photographer take these photos of you. The engagement session helps build trust and rapport with one another to ease the novelty of photography on your wedding day. You get to know each other more and figure out each other's personalities. You might not know it, but you're with your photographer longer than anyone else on your wedding day. You better make sure you can handle being with her/him for the whole day!

Well there you have it, the reason why I think engagement sessions are so crucial to the success of your wedding day. I don't care if it's me or not, make sure you have your wedding photographer take your engagement photos!
